Future initiatives and outlook

EHA

EHA’s digital transformation

In 2024, new initiatives will continue to focus on advancing hematology while ensuring the sustained growth of our community and organization.

MyEHA Community Platform and new EHA website

By mid-2024, we will introduce the MyEHA Community Platform—a virtual hub enabling members to engage, network, and collaborate. This platform will serve as a central space for discussions, exchanging information, and volunteer opportunities within EHA, culminating in a full rollout by early 2025.

Additionally, we are developing a new EHA website with a streamlined design and improved user experience, including an overhaul of the navigation, visuals, and content. We expect to start development end-2024 with launch planned for mid-2025.

A new era, a new identity

Effective communication, recognition, and credibility are related directly to a strong, unified, and consistent visual identity. Over the past year, we have developed tremendously, and we believe the time is right for us to revitalize our image and so embody our future-focused outlook.

Innovation Hub

In 2024, we are establishing a taskforce to start creating an Innovation Hub. This includes the exact roles of the hub and implementing its operational plan. First, we will be activating an SWG Innovation Fund to support the creation of SWG-initiated research consortia that will generate preliminary data to apply to target EU funding later on.

“Cost of Blood Disorders” study

A fresh study on the economic impact of blood disorders will provide essential data for advocacy efforts, strengthen hematology's visibility in EU pharmaceutical and cancer policies, and stimulate funding.

“Care for Adolescents & Young Adults in Hematology” Survey

Under the Adolescents & Young Adults (AYA) Taskforce, a comprehensive survey will map care provided to AYA patients in hematology. The task force will also extend tailored patient advocacy training to AYA patients, and so stimulate their involvement in shaping EHA's AYA agenda and advancing capacity building in hematology patient advocacy.

EHA2024 Hybrid Congress in Madrid, Spain

From June 13-16, 2024, Madrid will host the EHA2024 Hybrid Congress, transforming it into the "Capital of Hematology" for four days. This event will showcase cutting-edge developments and stimulate collaboration among global hematology stakeholders.
