EHA-TSH ‘La Cantera’ on Indolent Lymphomas

Together with the Turkish Society of Hematology (TSH) the ‘Cantera’ style tutorial was held on June 23-25, 2023 in Ankara, Türkiye. This tutorial focused on Indolent Lymphomas and was led by Prof M Federico, who was assisted by T Skrypets, Y Stepanishyna and M Manni. As a part of the TSH Summer School, a select number of Turkish fellows learned about the diagnosis, staging and treatment of indolent lymphomas, and separated into four groups, proposed potential projects and their design. They were given feedback by the coaches to implement and develop further after the tutorial.

EHA-SRH-SHRTM Balkan Hematology Tutorial

EHA, Societatea Românã de Hematologie (SRH), and the Scientific and Practical Society of Hematologists and Transfusiologists from the Republic of Moldova (SHTRM) organized this meeting on March 17-18, 2023 in Bucharest, Romania. The two-day program tested participants on their knowledge in various areas of acute leukemias.

4^th EHA-Balkan Hematology Day

EHA and the national Balkan countries’ societies
co-organized this 4^th EHA-Balkan Hematology Day in Belgrade, Serbia on October 12, in conjunction with the Serbian National Hematology Congress. The program focused on acute leukemias and specifically on acute myeloid leukemia diagnosis and therapies, and acute lymphoblastic leukemia diagnosis and therapies.

Virtual Hematology Updates

Organized by EHA and the Lebanese Society of Hematology and Blood Transfusion (LSHBT), these updates are dedicated to benign or malignant hematology disorders. The webinars provide practitioners with the practical tools to translate emerging data into the best therapy for their patients, to personalize care, and to apply novel treatment strategies to improve patient outcomes. The 2022/2023 series included eight two-hour workshops, a clinical lecture and Q&A, thereby reinforcing knowledge, offering interactive education, and enabling continued learning.

Guiding hematologists through diagnostic and clinical pathways

Hematology Tutorials provide laboratory and clinical hematologists with an integrated diagnostic and clinical work-up of hematological disorders. The programs take participants through diagnostic and clinical pathways via plenary lectures, interactively conducted clinical case study sessions, and self-assessment sessions. The faculty provides individual participant guidance throughout the meetings.

Our HOPE meetings (Highlights of Past EHA) stimulate international collaboration and foster long-term relations with our national society partners. Regional partners are invited to participate and join the international audience on-site.

5^th HOPE Latin America

The 5^th HOPE Latin America was organized with the Associação Brasileira de Hematologia Hemoterapia e Terapia Celular (ABHH) on October 26, 2023, in São Paulo, Brazil. The meeting delivered a selection of the most important educational and scientific sessions of EHA2023, tailored to the needs of the local hematologist. This year’s HOPE meeting was part of the Brazilian Congress of Hematology, Hemotherapy and Cell Therapy (HEMO 2023) and was chaired by A Almeida - President EHA, JF Comenalli Marques Jr - President ABHH, and C Chiattone - President HEMO 2023.

5^th HOPE Asia

The 5^th HOPE Asia was organized between EHA and the Indian Society of Hematology & Blood Transfusion (ISHBT) on August 18-20, 2023 in New Delhi, India. It was chaired by Manoranjan Mahapatra, ISHBT Organising Chairman, Elizabeth Macintyre, EHA President, Martin Dreyling, EHA Executive Board, Robin Foà, EHA Global Outreach Committee Member and Daniel Coriu, EHA Global Outreach Committee Member. HOPE Asia 2023 collated the key messages from EHA2023, delivering the most important educational and scientific messages from the EHA Congress, tailored to the needs of the local hematologist.
